Our mission
our purpose
Since its creation in 2001, Kéa has pursued a clear goal: to contribute to a more human form of capitalism. In 2020, we became the first strategy and transformation consulting firm to adopt the status of a “entreprise à mission” (mission-driven company) and clearly stated our purpose:
driving transformations for a desirable economy.
Our ability to make an impact, as a consulting firm, is expressed through three core commitments:
Our business
ethics
In building a desirable future — the one we aspire to contribute to — leading by example is not only a duty but also a powerful driver of progress.
Trust, respect for individuals, confidentiality of information, and independence: our business ethics commit us to all our stakeholders.
Civil society at large, notably through our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and our decarbonization policy.
Our clients, through strict attention to the confidentiality of their strategic data and balanced operating frameworks that combine project success, team well-being, and the reduction of the project’s carbon footprint.
Our people, through our employer promise and our ambitious diversity goals.
Our partners and suppliers, in line with the principles of the **RFAR Charter** (Responsible Supplier and Purchasing Relationships).
The competitive landscape in which we operate.
They are described in detail in the appendices of our 2024 Mission Committee Report.
Our decarbonization policy is based on a Carbon Footprint Assessment available on the ADEME website. Our 2024 carbon footprint (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) is currently being prepared and will be published here as soon as it becomes available.
Evidences of our
commitment
Being a “Entreprise à Mission” (Mission-Driven Company) means identifying the purposes that drive us — beyond the legitimate ambitions for our organization’s growth. By enshrining them in our bylaws, we protect them from short-term fluctuations and make them public, transparent, and therefore accountable.
In practice, our progress toward these self-defined goals is monitored:
- By a Mission Committee, an independent governance body independent from our management structure, composed of seven external members and two internal members, representing our stakeholders — clients, academia, NGOs, and employees;
- By an Independent Third-Party Organization, which audits the achievement of our mission every two years, allowing us to maintain our status as a Mission-Driven Company.
Our certifications
ECOVADIS has awarded Kéa a Gold Medal for its CSR commitments and policies. This distinction places us among the top 5% of companies assessed by this leading agency, which is highly regarded by major corporate buyers for its CSR performance evaluations.
Kéa has been B Corp certified since 2021, meeting one of the world’s most rigorous sustainability standards. B Corp measures a company’s social and environmental performance and recognizes the excellence of its practices across five areas: Governance / Workers / Community / Environment / Customers.
Kéa adheres to the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which are derived from the UN’s fundamental texts on human rights, labor standards, environmental protection, and the fight against corruption.
Kéa is a signatory of the Responsible Supplier and Purchasing Relations Charter, led by the Business Mediator and the National Purchasing Council (CNA).
Report
an issue
Kéa has implemented an Ethics Line that allows anyone to report any action or behavior that appears to violate Kéa’s commitments. The policy governing how reports are handled and how whistleblowers are protected is detailed in the attached document.
Our contributions
to the common good
Through Co, a strategy consulting firm dedicated to supporting projects serving the public good
CO-Conseil, a non-profit consulting cooperative, was founded in 2014 under the initiative of Syntec Conseil and four founding firms: Kéa, Columbus Consulting, Algoé, and Weave.
Each year, Kéa assigns consultants who bring their expertise, methods, and strategy & transformation tools to support leaders of public-interest projects addressing issues such as employment, poverty, health prevention, disability, and international solidarity.
In 2024, Kéa contributed 278 consulting days to CO Conseil’s activities.
For example, during the COVID-19 crisis, Kéa and CO Conseil helped implement the Civic Reserve, a national platform supporting associations in their efforts to combat the coronavirus.
In Support of Major Social Causes
For several years, Kéa and CO Conseil have been working alongside Make.Org in support of the major national cause “Act for Better Eating.” Driven by record-breaking public participation (460,000 participants / 1.26 million votes / 8,130 proposals — a new record!), this citizen consultation led to the development of an ambitious action plan with the support of our teams.
The plan includes eight concrete, high-impact national initiatives — such as the National Day of Agricultural and Food Heritage, Youth in Agriculture Mission, Agri’Don, Local Sales Platform, Less Plastic Collective, and Easy Bulk Initiative — all aimed at ensuring everyone has access to healthy, balanced, and affordable food, respectful of the environment and supportive of the long-term sustainability of our agricultural sectors.
Promoting Access to Healthcare for All, Especially in Africa and Asia
We are co-founders of Tech Care for All, a social-impact startup that builds and markets a portfolio of proven e-health solutions originally developed in Western countries, while also creating its own innovative digital health tools.
Tech Care for All deploys these solutions across Africa and India, leveraging networks of local entrepreneurs and major funding organizations operating in these regions.
